Alpamayo Base Camp-Trek (Cordillera Blanca)

Jancapampa – Hualcayán, 6 days, 6-7h per day, 3,130m – 4,860m, May – September

Beneath the peaks of Nevado Pucajirca, Nevado Alpamayo and Nevado Santa Cruz, this route crosses the Cordillera Blanca from east to west, through three lovely river valleys and over four high passes. Day 4 is a relaxed one, with a relatively short walk from Jancarurish camp to the Alpamayo base camp and back.

With 4 to 5 more days, you can complete the full Alpamayo circuit via the Santa Cruz Trek all the way to Vaquería.
