Peru / Chiclayo
Moche and Sicán princes in Chiclayo (north coast)
Most of Peru's greatest treasures date from the Moche (roughly 100–700 AD) and Sicán (roughly 700–1,000 AD) periods. Outstanding among them are the grave goods of the "Lord of Sipán," the "Old Lord of Sipán" and the "Priest of Sipán" (Moche culture, on display at the Royal Tombs of Sipán Museum in Lambayeque), and the "Lord of Sicán" (Sicán culture, on display at the Sicán Museum in Ferreñafe). It's also worth visiting the burial sites at Sipán and in the Bosque de Pómac, as well as taking a trip to the Valley of the Pyramids near Túcume.
