Between Sierra de Santa Marta and the Caribbean Sea: National Park Tayrona

Tayrona National Park is beautiful coastal rainforest with picturesque beaches, some of which are safe for swimming. It's also home to the Tayrona people, a few of whom still live deep in the forest. Not far from the coast rises the world's highest coastal mountain range, the Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta, capped by the glaciated 5,775m Pico Cristóbal Colón, Colombia's highest peak.
